Opportunities at Valcent ™
Over the past two years VALCENT PRODUCTS (EU) LIMITED has become recognized as a global leader in the development of Vertical Farming technology. Capable of offering the grower a range of viable commercial options proven in a full scale working environment, the Company is poised ready to build an international business based on enquiries from serious potential customers all over the world.
The Company now seeks to strengthen its management team to provide improved practical and technical support to the sales and marketing plan and advance the technology further through an ongoing programme of research and development.
Based in the South West of England the managers will operate from the Company’s headquarters in Launceston, Cornwall, and will report directly to the Managing Director. Considerable travel, both within the UK and internationally will be a feature of both positions.
Vacancies currently exist for:
SENIOR HORTICULTURAL MANAGER
The Horticultural Manager will have a background of direct experience in the horticultural or agricultural (crop production) industry, and a sound knowledge of hydroponics growing systems and technology will be an advantage. An appropriate academic qualification (minimum HND level) will be required in horticulture/agriculture majoring in plant sciences, or equivalent practical experience. The Company seeks a mature manager capable of providing advice to senior management within the growing industry and providing input to ongoing product development. Sound interpersonal skills are therefore essential, as is the ability to act both as a team player and leader as the Company grows internationally.
SENIOR TECHNICAL SERVICES MANAGER
A sound background and experience of the horticultural industry will be necessary, perhaps with an engineering qualification but with particular expertise in greenhouse construction practices and the technology of growing commercial crops in a controlled environment. A knowledge of automated and computerized control systems could also be a factor in our selection process, and sound interpersonal skills are important, as the successful candidate will also play an important role in training operatives for our clients’ turn-key operations. Together with the Senior Horticultural Manager, the role will also require input to ongoing product development.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
Both positions will command a starting base salary commensurate with background and experience. A life assurance and pension plan will be made available once an initial trial period of six month’s employment has been completed successfully, plus a company stock option bonus plan, and car allowance. Contribution will also be made to relocation costs if appropriate, and temporary accommodation subsidized until relocation arrangements are finalized.
